Wind Turbines

wind turbine

Wind turbines harness the power of the wind and use it to generate electricity, they use large blades to catch the wind. When the wind blows the blades are forced round, driving a turbine which generates electricity. The stronger the wind, the more electricity produced.

As with any renewable energy source the wind can be intermittent.
So it is well worth the cost to site a wind speed measurement device and data logger to test the potential site, before any turbine installation work is started. Planning permission will also have to be sought.

Great care has to be taken to site the turbine where it will have the best position to receive ‘clean air’ to maximize its performance. Away from any buildings or trees  that will cause turbulence.

Also to minimise any potential noise nuisance to property and neighbours!
