About Us

Family run Solaflair was established in 2006 by Rob Worthy as an independent  installation and consultancy service for renewable energy and gas services in the domestic and business market.
Since a young boy Rob has had an energetic appetite for ‘green’ issues despite being considered ‘slightly off the wall’ among his peers back in the 60’s and 70’s when renewables, conservation and such like were thought more of a ‘hippy’ thing than being part of every day life.

With over 35 years experience in the Energy and Gas Industry Rob originally trained as a gas engineer with British Gas, moving on to become a lecturer in Gas Safety at Oxford College as it was then before ultimately spending 7 years as a Gas CORGI inspector and RSA D32/3 Assessor in the 90’s.

After a spell in France working on renovating cottages for British expats installing Solar Thermal Hot Water Systems and Rainwater Harvesting Rob decided if it can work in France, why not the UK too and Solaflair was born.

Through Solaflair Rob is satisfying one of his greatest passions: to advise, help  and show people how they can  live their dreams of a ‘greener’ sustainable lifestyle in a practical way; whether it be simply ensuring your gas boiler is serviced properly and running at its most efficient, installing Solar Hot Water, a wood-burning stove or some other form of renewable energy .

Although Gas Central Heating Systems and boilers (installation and servicing) are our core trade Solaflair have been installing, servicing and maintaining  Solar Thermal systems since 2006 and Solar PV systems since 2011 offering the householder an all round energy experience.

On going training ensures that Solaflair keep  abreast of industry changes,  meet the relevant industry standards, achieve the relevant accreditation's required and are continually improving the company's  level of knowledge and expertise in all  areas to meet our customers needs.

In addition to being Gas Safe Registered Solaflair is a member of  IGEM and The Oxfordshire Green Construction Network
